KAUNASOPORTO exchange is a project that intends to develop a cultural and artistic relation between Portugal and Lithuania, through a partnership between IDEIAS EMERGENTES – Produção Cultural, CRL from Porto and MenoPARKAS Galerija / Lithuania Artists Association, in Kaunas. Since 2005 several artistic projects have been developed in Porto and Kaunas, having as highlight the project KaunasOporto exchange_Jornadas de Arte e Cultura Contemporânea Portuguesa, realized in Kaunas from May to August 2009, with an extension in the Vilnius 2009 – European Capital of Culture events, sponsored by the portuguese Embassy in Lithuania and Camões Institute. Ideias Emergentes took to Lithuania a diversified program that presented different aspects of portuguese contemporary culture and art, such as visual arts, photography, cinema, illustration, music, as well as a presentation of the culture and history of the city of Porto.
Now it is time for retribution and to receive Lithuania’s artistic and cultural manifestations at Porto. Between 22nd May and 20th June 2010, Ideias Emergentes in partnership with MenoPARKAS, presents a group of lithuanian artists spread around several places of the city of Porto – North side of Rua de Santa Catarina -, where a group of institutions dedicated to artistic creation and production will receive exhibitions, theatre and dance, cinema and video, contributing, in this way, for a new centrality for arts, architecture, design and cultural manifestations.
